Art in the Fort Worth Zoo

A Pictorial Parade

No visit to Fort Worth, Texas, is complete without a stroll through the wonderful world-class Fort Worth Zoo. There are 12 permanent exhibit areas and many many animals to view. But instead of talking about the animals here, I'm going to talk about the art. Or, rather, I'm mainly going to show the art and let it speak for itself.

The Old Monkey House

A small, stone-clad building near Raptor Canyon used to house primates. It's now home to several species of birds. I really like these mosaics.

Tasmanian Tower

There's a 25-foot tall rock climbing pillar for kids located near the Australian Outback section. Here's some of the artwork around it.

The Great Barrier Reef

The Australian Outback section includes an aquarium with reef fish and sharks. The building is decorated with quite a lot of mostly aboriginal-style art. Here's a small sample.
